Years ago, I fell in love with the Old South Golf Course; located near the bridges to Hilton Head Island. The course was pretty tough for me, a baseball swing with golf club in hand leads to mixed results. Anyway, it was just awesome looking over Mackay's Creek and the May River; thinking that it was one of the prettiest areas in the Carolina Low Country.
Later on they started to build some wonderful homes with views of the Old South Golf Course and the Intra-Coastal. I returned to the course, some days were better than others, but I really was spellbound by the folks that were building homes here. They did very well in my opinion.
I recently returned this past summer, for a few visits with a friend who's parents own a house here. She took the time and walked me through the area with a big smile on her face as she looked at the homes and the Low Country landscape. The walk allowed me to revisit the area and share the mutual attraction that we both had for South Pointe.
Other than it's beauty, it is a stone's throw to Hilton Head Island and not too far from local stores and restaurants. Homes are currently starting around $340,000 and as the view improves the price increases. It is a nice and safe gated community.
